How can I check if my rent is fair?

Ask your landlord or agent for the points calculation. Since 1 January 2025, every new rental agreement must come with one, even in the free sector. You can then check the result with the free rental price check on the website of the Huurcommissie, the Dutch Rental Tribunal. The contract must also list the basic rent, service charges, and utilities separately, since an “all-in” rent is not permitted. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to look at it with you.
